A Brazilian and Italian national, Angela holds a M.Sc. from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (Brazil) and a Ph.D. from the University of Trento (Italy), both in Environmental Engineering. Her main expertise includes technical, social and environmental aspects of water and wastewater management, as well as project management, capacity building and water governance. Over the past five years, she has been working on the linkages between water resources and sustainable development and has been responsible for the development of flagship reports such as the UN-Water “SDG 6 Synthesis Report 2018 on Water and Sanitation”.
Her role at WWF will be to support the strategy and implementation of Water Stewardship projects linked with apparel and textile. She will focus on key programmes in China, India, Ethiopia, Turkey and Vietnam as well as supporting programmes in Pakistan and Hong Kong. She acts as a focal point between the basin teams and the international partners in order to ensure smooth communication, the achievement of the project goals and the development of long term strategy. Her goal in this position is to ensure that both the quality of water resources and water governance in these basins will improve alongside livelihood and economic conditions.
